Apple Rumored To Start iPhone 6c Production Next Month

Over the past few months, it has been consistently rumored that Apple is going to release a 4 inch iPhone early next year. Almost every other week there’s a new rumor about this handset and we do have a new one today which claims that Apple is going to start mass production of the iPhone 6c, that’s what it’s believed to be called, next month. The new handset is expected to bring several improvements over the iPhone 5s which is what it’s based on.

The rumor cites sources at Foxconn, a major manufacturing partner for Apple, and claims that since it’s supposed to be launch early next year the iPhone 6c will enter production by January.

iPhone 6c is believed to have the same screen size as the iPhone 5s though underneath it may have a bigger 1,642mAh battery as opposed to the 1,570mAh battery in iPhone 5s. It may even have a slightly curved 2.5D glass not unlike the curved edges found on the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s.

No other major changes are expected, the iPhone 6c may look about the same as the iPhone 5c, and is likely to come in space gray, silver and gold colors like the handset it’s based on. Under the hood, it may have the much better A9 processor with 2GB RAM aside from an 8-megapixel rear camera.

Pricing is expected to start at north of $600 for a factory unlocked model. Apple hasn’t even hinted anything about a 4 inch iPhone as yet so it’s best to be cautious with these rumors, and considering the iPhone 5c’s failure, Apple would need a really good reason to try this again.
