iphone6c-release-dateThere have been a lot of rumors about Apple possibly launching a smaller iPhone in the form of the iPhone 6c, or the iPhone 7c in which it is being referred to by some these days. So far the general consensus is that the device will be launched in either Q2 2016 or in a broader view, will launch in the first half of 2016.

Thanks to a recently revealed roadmap from China Mobile, it seems that the rumors could be right. China Mobile recently held a press conference (the same event that ousted the Samsung Galaxy S7’s release date for March 2016) and during the event, they shared a slide of their roadmap for 2016 and according to the slide, it suggested that we can expect the iPhone 6c/7c to be launched in April 2016.

This puts it in Q2 and in H1 of 2016, but we can’t sure if this corroborates the rumors or if China Mobile is simply basing the launch date on the rumors. That being said, carriers like China Mobile should be able to get their hands on insider information before the general public does, but at the same time we’re pretty sure companies like Apple would have warned them against sharing such details.

However we should point out that Apple does tend to hold events in the early part of the year. These events are usually non-iPhone related like the launch of the Apple Watch, the 12-inch MacBook, and updates to its Mac computers, but it is possible that we could learn more about the device then but maybe you shouldn’t get your hopes up just yet.
