Control This House’s Christmas Lights Via A Browser

So, you are more or less done with the holiday celebrations and are currently working on your new year resolutions, where one of them would be to pack up your Christmas decorations as soon as possible. Still, if you miss all of the lights and other decorations of the Yuletide season and do not want it to end, here is something which can keep you occupied for some time to come – the ability to control the Christmas lights that are installed on an actual home, and to be able to do so from the comfort of your own home via a browser.

The generous couple in question would be Ken and Rebecca-Ellen, who love to decorate their home with Christmas lights each time Christmas comes around. They have decided to spice things up abit for themselves as well as the neighborhood, by enabling those on the Internet to control the lights according to their whim and fancy.

You get a live view of the outside of their home, as well as a set of simple “on” and “off” commands on the browser which will then let you control a range of lights. It does look as though there is a wee bit of a delay each time you activate or deactivate the lights, but at the end of the day, it will still work. No idea on how long the lights will be up, hence it is best to make hay while the sun still shines.
