Today at the International Consumer Electronics Show 2016 in Las Vegas Acer announced the launch of what it calls the world’s first Chromebase all-in-one powered by Intel processors, promising powerful performance with the simplicity and speed of Chrome OS. The new Chromebase 24 has the largest screen of all Chrome OS-powered devices on the market, it touts a 23.8 inch full HD 1920×1080 pixel resolution IPS display.

The latest addition to Acer’s portfolio of Chrome OS-powered devices which include Chromebooks, Chromeboxes and Chromebases features Intel Core processors coupled with up to 8GB of DDR3L RAM. Connectivity options include 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Gigabit Ethernet.

“With smooth video conferencing, a great HD video experience and ability to multi-task, the Acer Chromebase 24 with Intel Core is an exciting all-in-one design,” said Gregory Bryant, Corporate Vice President and General Manager, Desktop Client Platforms Group, Intel.

The Chromebase 24 has been optimized for video conferencing so it features four digital microphones, an adjustable HD webcam and with a frame that enables the chassis to tilt from -5° to 30°. Automatic updates for Chrome OS are promised every six weeks so that users always have the latest security and apps installed. All data regardless of whether its stored locally or in the cloud is encrypted.

Acer hasn’t confirmed the exact specifications, pricing and availability information for the Chromebase 24 as it will vary by region, it recommends that interested customers contact local Acer office or retailer to find out more about the Chromebase 24.
