Slashy Souls was trademarked by Bandai Namco back in September last year. It didn’t immediately make it clear what this trademark was for. Recently the publisher announced that Slashy Souls is actually an endless runner game for mobile devices that’s inspired by Dark Souls. Slashy Souls has now been released on the App Store and Google Play Store.

Slashy Souls isn’t that different from most endless runner games that you can find for iOS and Android. The idea is to run, jump, navigate obstacles and avoid elements that might wipe you out of the game. It’s a relatively simple take on the Dark Souls series.

The mobile game is not developed by From Software which is the primarily developer of the Dark Souls series. Slashy Souls is actually the result of a collaboration between Bandai Namco and GameStop.

Despite that the mobile game has no shortage of elements that have been taken directly from the main Dark Souls games, like Executioner Smough and Gravelord Nito, which feature prominently in the trailer.

Slashy Souls is available as a free download for iOS and Android from the App Store and the Google Play Store. The game has been rated for users aged 16 or over.
