Microsoft Band 2 Updated With Auto Pause

band2-auto-pauseIt was in October last year that Microsoft decided to reveal the sequel to their original Microsoft Band, calling it the Band 2. Well, that piece of wearable technology did not seem to do all that well, as it saw a price cut applied at the end of last month. Fret not, as Microsoft is far from discontinuing any kind of support for the Band 2, as a new update has been introduced for the said device.

This new update will obviously bring along with it some new features, where first of all, there is a new Auto Pause feature that will enable the Band 2 to detect when you take a break in your training session. It will not work automatically though, as you will first need to enable this feature. Apart from that, it is smart enough to resume your tracking session whenever you resume your training session.

According to Microsoft, “Microsoft Band is now equipped with Auto Pause. When you enable Auto Pause, your band will automatically pause your tracking session when it senses you’ve stopped. When you start again, your session will automatically resume. Stop at that intersection, take a water break, or chat with your neighbor without a second thought. Auto Pause works with the Run Tile and the Bike Tile on Microsoft Band 2.”

Character-based languages such as simplified and Traditional Chinese, Japanese, and Korean will also be made available on the Band 2 to further increase its appeal. [Press Release]
