Oppo and their recent flagship devices, the Oppo R9 as well as the Oppo R9 Plus which turned up officially over slightly less than a fortnight ago, has apparently impressed where its sales figures are concerned. In fact, on the very first day of availability itself, it seems that the sales figures have been extremely encouraging, with Oppo managing to sell over 180,000 R9 and R9 Plus smartphones in a single day.
Taking into consideration the number of people living in China, however, that figure is extremely low, but for Oppo it can be considered to be a success already, having gone through online as well as offline sales channels. Needless to say, the money that Oppo has invested into marketing both of these devices have also helped some bit, and famous Chinese celebrities were enrolled to help promote both of the R9 handsets.
Of course, apart from the marketing fluff, having the right design and decent hardware specifications would also do a long way in inspiring confidence in the particular product. We would like to see how the handset performs in terms of sales outside of China though, and fingers crossed, that should happen sooner rather than later.
