There was a great deal of interest in The Division prior to its launch and Ubisoft was expected to see a strong response from customers when the title was finally released, and it most certainly did. Ubisoft has announced that The Division has broken its sales record. The new third-person action-RPG has sold more copies in its first 24 hours than any game that Ubisoft has ever released.

Ubisoft has also said that total digital full game sales of The Division have set a new single-day company record across the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, the platforms that this game has been released on.

It was also quick to point out that with the initial success of The Division, Ubisoft now has three of the top four most successful new game brand launches in the history of the gaming industry. Now that’s something to boast about.

Co-founder and CEO of Ubisoft Yves Guillemot said: “The launch of The Division is a tremendous achievement for Ubisoft, and demonstrates our unrivaled capacity to create fantastic new game brands and transform them into entertainment blockbusters.”

The Division was released worldwide on March 8th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. This game is likely going to set more records for Ubisoft down the line as it’s only getting started. Players have a lot to look forward to in the coming months as there are going to be plenty of expansions and new content to get their hands on.
