HTC has just announced a new mid-range handset which it calls the HTC One S9. It’s quite similar to previous HTC handsets in that it features a metal design similar to the HTC One M9, two front-facing speakers and more. It’s more of an upper mid-range device as opposed to a full flagship like the HTC 10.

HTC One S9 is powered by the MediaTek Helio X10 processor coupled with 2GB RAM, 16GB storage, 2,840mAh battery, 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 lens and OIS, 2-micron UltraPixel front camera as well as a 5 inch full HD display.

This handset has been announced today by HTC Europe and it features 4G bands for European carriers. It comes with a €500 price tag, that’s about $560, so it’s priced more in line with last year’s flagship smartphones.

HTC One S9 comes with Android 6.0 Marshmallow running straight out of the box with HTC Sense UI slapped on top. It comes in at 144,6 × 69,7 × 10,09 mm and weighs just 158g.

The company hasn’t confirmed as yet when this smartphone is going to be released in other markets like the United States and how much it’s going to cost.

It’s unclear if and when HTC is going to confirm the pricing and availability of this handset in markets other than Europe.
