KOF-XIVLast year the folks at SNK Playmore announced that the arcade fighting game King of Fighters XIV will be making its way onto the Sony PS4. However what they had neglected to mention was when the game will be arriving on the console. In fact it was only just last month that we got confirmation that a release in the Americas region was in the cards.

Given that many games released in Japan can sometimes take a while to be localized for western markets, this was good news. Now it looks like we might have even more good news because according to a recent announcement, the game’s release date has been officially set for the 23rd of August, 2016 for the Americas region.

For our readers in Japan, you guys will actually be getting the game slightly later on the 25th of August, 2016 which is actually surprising. The 23rd of August date will also cover regions such as South Korea and Hong Kong, so if you stay in those countries/markets and this is a game you’re looking forward to, then you’ll want to mark that date down on your calendar.

King of Fighters XIV will also mark the first time that the game will be using 3D graphics primarily. Previous incarnations of the game offered up a more 2D effect, so if you do enjoy the 3D style found on Tekken, maybe the latest King of Fighters title might be of interest to you.
