It’s about time that the LG G3 started getting the much-awaited Marshmallow update on carriers in the United States. According to a new report, the update is now available for this handset on AT&T and T-Mobile. It may not have been released over-the-air just yet but it appears that the update is ready on both carriers for this handset and users just have to go through an extra step to get it.

Multiple users have reported that they’ve got Android 6.0 Marshmallow on their LG G3 tied to AT&T and T-Mobile, even though it appears that both carriers have yet to start the over-the-air release.

According to the reports, AT&T and T-Mobile users can now hook up their phones to the LG PC Suite on their computer to download Marshmallow for the G3, so it doesn’t really matter if the OTA hasn’t been sent out yet, this method appears to have worked for many people who have already updated their handsets.

Support documents on the AT&T and T-Mobile website still indicate that Android 5.0.1 Lollipop is the most current software available for the G3. There’s no word as yet from the carriers on when they plan on releasing this update over-the-air, as I am sure many wouldn’t like to go through the hassle of updating the handset manually, it shouldn’t take long for the OTA to arrive.
