uncharted 4Yesterday we reported that it seemed that people were selling copies of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End earlier than expected. The game was scheduled for a launch on the 10th of May, but yet for some reason over in the UK, there were people who were selling what they claimed to be legitimate copies of the game.

However it turns out that these copies were stolen. This has been confirmed by Sony’s Shuhei Yoshida on the PlayStation blog in which he said that several copies of Uncharted 4 were stolen whilst in transit. “We have some unfortunate news to report that a number of copies of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End were stolen while in transit. While we are continuing to work with the police to resolve the matter – which is the subject of an ongoing criminal investigation – it appears that a few copies of the game have surfaced in the UK.”

Yoshida posted this warning so that players won’t end up buying the stolen copies, but also to warn them that because of these stolen copies, there could be people who would post spoilers to the game online. “As with most Naughty Dog games, the unfolding story is such an integral part of the experience and for this reason we wanted to warn you to beware of the potential for spoilers to be posted by people with access to stolen copies of the game.”

Like we said, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End will be released on the 10th of May, so if you do see any copies being sold online before then, you can safely assume that they are part of the stolen units which are being hunted down by the police.
