Naughty Dog today gave us a first look at the upcoming cooperative and solo mode for Uncharted 4. Aptly titled Uncharted 4: Survival, the new mode is going to be properly unveiled at the PlayStation Experience next week. The developer hasn’t just released a trailer of this new mode today, it has also confirmed that Uncharted 4: Survival is going to be released in mid-December.

Uncharted 4: Survival is a wave-based mode where players can team up with up to two additional players to take on swarms of powerful enemies that only grow powerful. They also have to tackle unique objectives. The mode brings new enemy types and powerful new bosses. It even features a dedicated progression system and an expansive upgradable arsenal.

“If you played Co-Op Arena from Uncharted 2 and Uncharted 3, you’re going to feel right at home in Survival. We’ve built upon and evolved the core gameplay experience with an entirely new level of depth, challenge, and variety,” adds Naughty Dog game designer Vinit Agarwal.

The new mode will put players through 50 waves and 10 maps where they take on Shoreline mercenaries, heavily armored Brutes, Snipers, Hunters, and more enemies. The enemies only get more aggressive, powerful, and precise as time goes on. There will be a boss battle after every ten waves which now include all-new Pirate Warlords.

The trailer released today offers a glimpse of what to expect from the upcoming Survival mode. Naughty Dog is yet to confirm an official release date, so far, it has only said that the new mode will be out by mid-December.
