Fallout 4 PC Mods Being Stolen For Xbox One

Fallout 4 mods have been available on PC for quite some time now. Mods have only recently been confirmed for consoles and they’re out now for Xbox One. Perhaps this is something that Bethesda should be seen coming because some dishonest members of the Fallout 4 community are stealing mods originally created for PC and uploading them as their own original works for Xbox One. This is tantamount to stealing and yet there seems to be no end in sight.

Several Reddit users point out to many Fallout 4 mods on Xbox One that have actually been stolen from the PC version. Some of these in-game mods were exclusively hosted on Nexus Mods, and yet they are being uploaded to Bethesda.net as original creations meant for Fallout 4 on Xbox One.

Bethesda has taken about complaints about this and it has been taking down some of these stolen mods. Instructions have also been issued by the developer, detailing how content creators can fight back against this rampant thievery.

Nevertheless, mod authors are furious that their hard work is being stolen and passed off as their own by thieves. Some have even threatened that they will stop creating mods for Fallout 4 until Bethesda starts asking mod uploaders and not mod authors to provide proof that the work is their own creation.

Bethesda likely isn’t going to waste any time in getting this sorted out, particularly as mod support is going to go live on PlayStation 4 very soon.
