According to the rumors, word has it that the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 5s will sport an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. The sensor is said to be provided by Qualcomm which we have covered in the past with the technology called Sense ID, although so far we can’t say we know of any OEMs who have adopted it.
Basically this uses ultrasonic technology to read your fingerprint which is said to be more accurate. It also allows OEMs to embed the sensor underneath the phone instead of making it so obvious. Other rumored specs of the Mi 5s include a pressure-sensitive display, something that hasn’t quite caught on even amongst iPhone users, and a 5.15-inch Full HD display.
We can also expect a Snapdragon 823 chipset with 6GB of RAM. No word on when the phone will be announced, but so far it sounds like the Xiaomi Mi 5s is sporting certain features that iPhone owners are probably wishing/hoping for.
