Low-cost carrier Cricket Wireless has come out with a new data plan that’s aimed at customers who want a bit more mobile data without having to spend a small fortune every month on their phone bill. The new plan is going to provide customers with unlimited talk and text as well as 1GB of 4G LTE data. Once the 1GB limit is hit, customers can continue to use mobile data albeit at 128 kbps speeds. Good luck trying to get anything done with those speeds.

This new plan from Cricket Wireless will officially be available to customers starting tomorrow. It competes directly with Google’s Project Fi which also offers unlimited talk and text with 1GB of LTE data.

However, customers might prefer Project Fi because of the additional features that it offers. Features like prioritizing Wi-Fi connections so that mobile data usage is kept to the bare minimum, effectively stretching the 1GB data even further.

The only problem with Project Fi is that it’s compatible with just three smartphones whereas you can choose from about two dozen handsets on Cricket Wireless. Customers do love choice and the latter offers a lot of it.

Customers who are interested in signing up for this new $30 plan can get in touch with Cricket Wireless tomorrow.
