Dario Health’s Mobile Glucose Meter Is iPhone 7 Compatible

dario lightningThere are a variety of accessories for the iPhone, such as external flashes, lens attachments, speakers, and so on. However there are also medical accessories, such as the Dario Glucose Monitoring System which used to plug into the headphone jack on smartphones to help diabetics monitor their glucose levels.

Unfortunately with Apple removing the headphone jack on the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, what does this mean for users? Thankfully the folks at Dario Health wasted no time in creating a Lightning version of its glucose monitoring system, meaning that users can continue to monitor their glucose levels even if they were to purchase the iPhone 7.

Of course this means that users will need to purchase the updated model if they want compatibility, but if you already own the existing version, the iPhone 7 does come bundled with a 3.5mm jack to Lightning adapter so we don’t see why it won’t be possible for users to use their existing glucose monitor that way.

However if you’d rather not use the adapter or if you don’t own the device already, Dario Health will begin selling the Glucose Monitoring System for the iPhone 7 early next year where it will be priced at $39.99 and will include the device, lancets, and test strips. Additional information can be found on Dario Health’s website.
