It’s never easy to compete with Samsung. The company makes great handset and it has deep pockets to push them through ads and marketing campaigns. So what do you do when Samsung’s latest flagship crashes and burns quite literally? You slash the price of your flagship by $150. That’s what HTC has done. It’s now selling the HTC 10 for $150 off the regular retail price.

Earlier this month, HTC ran a promotion through which it offered the HTC 10 for $150 off. That promotion ended on October 8th but soon after Samsung announced that it was killing the Galaxy Note 7, HTC decided to bring this promotion back again.

You can’t hold it against HTC for taking advantage of the Galaxy Note 7 situation. It’s just business after all and it’s not like this wasn’t expected from Samsung’s rivals. I mean, how often are they handed a chance to compete in a market where Samsung performed very poorly and potentially ended up damaging its brand reputation as well.

The HTC 10 is a proper flagship smartphone. It has a 5.2 inch 2K LCD display, it’s powered by the Snapdragon 820 processor with 4GB RAM and it also features a USB Type-C port as well as a 3,000mAh battery.

HTC is offering its 2016 flagship for $549 unlocked, the price also applies to Verizon, T-Mobile and Sprint versions. This deal is being offered until October 16th.
