Fans of the Resident Evil franchise will be delighted to know that the upcoming addition to the franchise has support for cross-save between Xbox One and PC. This means that players can start playing the game on PC and pick up right where they left off on the Xbox One. It will make it much easier for them to continue gameplay even as they keep on switching the device the play Resident Evil 7 on.

Resident Evil 7 Xbox One to PC cross-save support has been officially confirmed by Capcom. This feature was first spotted by Dengeki which reports that the Windows Store version of Resident Evil 7 “can share play data with the Xbox One version.”

It’s interesting to note that this functionality has been added to Resident Evil 7 even though it hasn’t been confirmed as an Xbox Play Anywhere title. Cross-save support is normally provided for Xbox Play Anywhere games and it hasn’t been confirmed by either Capcom or Microsoft if that’s the case for Resident Evil 7 as well.

It does merit mentioning here that Xbox Play Anywhere has so far been limited to games exclusive to the Xbox while Resident Evil 7 will also be arriving on the PlayStation 4. Resident Evil 7 is due for release on January 24th, 2017. Capcom expects to sell up to four million copies of this game before April 2017.
