Capcom had promised several months ago that it would release a patch for Resident Evil 7: Biohazard which would enable the title to take full advantage of the Xbox One X’s performance gains. The promised patch has now been released. The Resident Evil 7 Xbox One X upgrade will enable the title to render at a higher resolution than before and thus provide an improved experience to players.

Many had been wondering when the Resident Evil 7 Xbox One X patch would be released given that Capcom hadn’t really followed up on it after it first announced that one would be released. It hadn’t even said when we could expect it to arrive.

That changed earlier today when Capcom released the patch which will allow the title to take advantage of the Xbox One X’s additional power. It has released a trailer which compares the difference in visuals on the Xbox One S and the Xbox One X. You can easily notice the difference.

Aside from the enhanced clarity, the title will continue to run at 60 frames-per-second even though it’s rendering at a higher resolution now. Resident Evil 7 players can get their hands on this patch starting today. They’ll only be able to experience the improvements if they’re playing the title on the Xbox One X.
