You can find countless parental control apps in the Google Play Store but many users prefer to have a stock option. According to a new report, Samsung is developing a parental control app for its Android-powered Galaxy smartphones. The app is said to be called Family Care. It will offer a set of features that enable users to configure what their kids can and can not access on their devices.

The Family Care app will enable parents to put limits to use time and app installations. It will also provide reminders, notifications, and even pickup requests. All of these features will be easily accessible once the parents pair their devices easily with their kids’ phones through QR codes.

The report mentions that Family Care is going to have a card-like interface which will provide information such as use time for the phone as well as individual apps at a glance. Kids will also be able to send a request to their parent’s device for a pickup. The location for the pickup can either be the kid’s current location or a preset location such as the school.

Parents will be able to set tasks and reminders within the app so that they don’t forget about the things that they’re supposed to do with their kids. The app will provide them with complete control over app installations and even music downloads.

It’s unclear at this point in time when Samsung is going to release Family Care for Galaxy devices but there’s a possibility that we might see it being announced alongside the Galaxy S8 early next year.
