Uncharted Movie’s Director Hopes To Finish Filming By End Of 2017

uncharted-4A report from last week revealed that Sony’s Uncharted movie had found its new director in Shawn Levy, the executive producer and director of Netflix’s Stranger Things series. So now that the movie has a new director, we’re sure the next question is, when will the movie be ready for everyone to see?

If you were hoping 2017, that would indeed be wishful thinking. In fact if anything it seems that we’ll have to wait at least until 2018 to see it. In an interview with io9, Levy revealed that he was hoping that he would be able to complete the filming of the movie by the end of 2017. Let’s not forget that once filming is wrapped up, there is the editing and post-processing so that will take up additional time.

However we are glad that we at least have an idea of how things will be moving along now. As for who will be cast, especially in the lead role of Nathan Drake, Levy said, “I do have some people in mind and I’ve started some very secret, low-grade conversations and explorations of actors. And I literally need to stop talking now.” Levy also joked about using Twitter to get suggestions on who to cast.

“I made a joke, and it was a joke though people took it seriously, that I’m getting so many suggestions on social media that I can save money and not hire a casting director. Twitter is a super-opinionated casting director, so thank you Twitter.” Jokes aside, who do you guys think would make a perfect Nathan Drake?
