Will Sony’s Uncharted movie ever see the light of day? It certainly doesn’t really feel like it because according to a report from Deadline, their sources have told them that the movie’s latest director, Travis Knight, will apparently be dropping out of the movie due to scheduling conflicts.

This is said to be due to actor Tom Holland’s schedule with Spider-Man that is apparently causing some scheduling issues. Deadline’s sources have also told them that Sony still has plans to move forward with the movie and will be looking for a new director and will also be setting a new release date, which was previously set for a release in 2020.

The movie seems to be having a problem with keeping its directors around, where back in August, it was reported that Dan Trachtenberg had also decided to call it quits on directing the movie which ultimately led to Travis Knight taking up the role. For those looking at the timeline, the movie was initially supposed to be directed by David O. Russell.

It was later supposed to be directed by Stranger Things’ Shawn Levy, before it went to Dan Trachtenberg. The movie is said to be keeping its cast, where Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg will be the movie’s leads, with Holland playing Nathan Drake while Wahlberg cast as Drake’s ally Victor Sullivan.
