It’s really starting to feel like Sony’s Uncharted movie may never happen. Over the years, ever since plans for the movie was announced, it has somehow managed to lose director after director, although earlier this year, it seemed like things would be back on track with Dan Trachtenberrg being attached to the movie.

Unfortunately, it looks like Trachtenberg is no longer directing the movie, according to a report from Deadline. It is unclear why the movie is losing so many directors so quickly, but it certainly doesn’t bode well for the movie. However, the report goes on to add that Sony is already working quickly to secure his replacement and that meetings for a potential replacement are already underway.

The plan is apparently to lock down a new director by the end of summer with production expected to begin in 2020. This will no doubt delay the release of the movie, where just a couple of months ago, it was reported that the movie would be released in 2020, but it certainly doesn’t look like that will be happening anymore.

In the meantime, actor Tom Holland who is set to star as Nathan Drake, is said to be still attached to the movie, so it looks like Sony is still secure with its actors for now.
