Vinci Smart Hearable Reinvents Headphones

You may never have thought about owning a pair of headphones that have a touchscreen on the side but after looking at the Vinci “smart hearable,” you might be curious about the idea. The company describes Vinci as the first smart 3D headphones that understand the user. They’re powered by voice recognition and artificial intelligence to double as a personal assistant, music studio, phone, and more.

Vinci is a smart, wireless headphone that’s powered by cloud technology and controlled via voice commands. It doesn’t need to be hooked up to a smartphone. Features include a touchscreen display, virtual assistant, 3D recording, location-based services, advanced noise canceling, the ability to monitor body vitals, and more.

Music recommendations will be based on factors such as body vitals, listening habits, activities, and preferences. The company claims that Vinci makes “intelligent and real-time recommendations.” It’s also capable of monitoring heart rate, counting steps, and more.

The device itself is powered by an ARM Cortex-A7 processor with 1GB of RAM and up to 32GB of internal storage. 3G support allows Vinci to work on AT&T and T-Mobile networks. Additional features include the ability to stream music from services like Soundcloud and Spotify, 3D sound, advanced noise cancellation, audio transparency mode, etc.

Vinci is a crowdfunding project on Kickstarter right now seeking to raise $50,000 in 37 days. The lowest you can pledge right now to get a Vinci with 16GB storage is $99 while $149 gets you a Vinci Pro with 32GB of storage. Both feature a 1,500mAh battery. The crowdfunding campaign for Vinci is now live on Kickstarter.
