If you think that Sony has been a bit too focused on hardware in 2016 then you’d be right. 2016 brought us the PlayStation 4 Slim, PlayStation 4 Pro, and company’s first virtual reality headset, the PlayStation VR. That’s not to say that it didn’t do anything on the software front but hardware was the clear priority. With new products out of the way, Sony is changing gears and telling PlayStation fans to get excited about all of the “amazing” games that will be released for the console in 2017.

PlayStation Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida has said that PlayStation fans can expect to see “amazing software” being released for the PlayStation next year. This new software is going to take full advantage of the new hardware that the company released in 2016.

We already know about a few high-end PS4 games that are currently in the pipeline. These include the new God of War title, Horizon: Zero Dawn, Persona 6, and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. Bloodborne producer Teruyuki Toriyama has said that his team is working on “ambitious titles” as well as ideas for entirely new games. Much to the dismay of fans, this doesn’t confirm anything about Bloodborne 2.

Expect Sony to release some new virtual reality experiences for the PlayStation VR as well, aside from working with developers to ensure that some of the top games expected next year have support for 4K gaming on the PlayStation 4 Pro.
