Spotify is one of the most widely used music streaming services across the globe so when an artist does well on the service you can imagine just how fast their stock is rising with fans. Spotify’s top artists list sees Drake on top for 2016. The Canadian rapper and meme machine appears to be unstoppable since it’s his second year in a row on top of Spotify’s top artists list.

Stefan Blom, Spotify’s Chief Content & Chief Strategy Officer, mentions that Drake had the top album and the top song this year. He remains the world’s most streamed artists with more than 4.7 billion streams this year alone. He has more than doubled last year’s record of 1.8 billion streams.

This makes Drake the most streamed Spotify artist of all time with more than 8.7 billion streams. That’s phenomenal. Justin Bieber comes in second place followed by Rihanna, Twenty One Pilots, and Kanye West on the list of top five artists for 2016.

The most streamed album this year also belongs to Drake. He dropped a new album called Views earlier this year in April and it has since then racked up more than 2.45 billion streams on Spotify.

Spotify has launched a special page on its website to recap the top playlists of 2016, year in review playlists, videos, and additional content.
