Final Fantasy VII Remake Still Has A Way To Go

ff7 remakeBack in 2015, Square Enix and Sony announced that Final Fantasy VII will be getting an official remake. This won’t be 100% the same game that gamers fell in love with, and it is also expected to introduce some new features along with its updated graphics. There was no mention of when it would be released, but it seems that gamers will still have to keep waiting.

If you were hoping that the remake would be released in 2017, you might be disappointed. According to an interview with Famitsu (via Hachima Kikou; via Gematsu), the game’s director Tetsuya Nomura revealed that the game is still in development and still has some ways to go and that players will have to wait a little bit longer.

Nomura was quoted as saying, “We’re steadily progressing on production. While we are making them, I apologize that the wait will be be a bit longer for Kingdom Hearts III and Final Fantasy VII Remake. I am very sorry, but to that degree I will make a game that will meet your expectations.”

However the good news is that there are plans to showcase how far along they have come in terms of development. “Last year, I didn’t put out much information on either title, but this year I want to show our progress at an event somewhere. The release of the titles themselves have still have a way to go. But there are many titles releasing this year, if you can wait for any ‘surprises.’”
