When it comes to the Final Fantasy franchise, it is safe to say that Final Fantasy VII was probably one of the more iconic Final Fantasy games out there. It is still being talked about even today and cosplayers love picking characters from that title to dress up as, despite the fact that the game is considered pretty damn old.

However if you’re wondering how the game might fare if it were to run on newer consoles with better graphics, wonder no more because during Sony’s E3 2015 press conference, Square Enix came on stage and officially announced that Final Fantasy VII will be getting an official and proper remake when it arrives on the Sony PlayStation 4 console.

This is something that many fans have been asking for over the years and Square Enix has remained mum on the issue everytime it has been brought up, but we guess they finally broke their silence, much to the joy of Final Fantasy fans around the world, as well as those who are wondering what all the fuss is about.

Unfortunately not much is known about the remake at the moment, like if there will be new features and whatnot, or when it will be released, but we suppose fans can take solace in the fact that it is real and it is coming. In the meantime you can check out its E3 trailer in the video above.
