As it stands Bethesda’s Fallout Shelter exists on a variety of devices. This includes iOS and Android on the mobile front, and recently it found its way onto the Xbox One and Windows 10 via the Xbox Play Anywhere feature. So the question is, what about other consoles such as the PS4? Will it see Fallout Shelter as well?

Unfortunately the answer appears to be no. According to a tweet by Bethesda’s Pete Hines, he replied to a gamer who asked about a possible PS4 release in which he wrote, “dunno. We didn’t make it for Xbox. We made it for universal windows platform, which supports a variety of devices”.

To be fair Hines’ answer did not completely shut out the possibility, but rather it sounded like the developer is still unsure if it could find its way onto the PS4 eventually. This means that if you’re a PS4 gamer, then maybe you don’t want to hold your breath for its release, but take comfort in knowing that the door hasn’t been completely shut.

In the meantime if you’re an Xbox One or Windows 10 gamer, you’ll be able to check out the game for yourself right now. Fallout Shelter is a free-to-play title with in-app purchases coming in the form of Lunch Boxes that are completely optional.
