Samsung Galaxy S8 Launch Date To Be Announced At MWC 2017

It has been confirmed that Samsung will not be announcing the Galaxy S8 at MWC 2017. However we have heard reports that Samsung will be teasing the phone at the event and now according to a report out of Korea (via GSMArena), apparently Samsung will actually be announcing the launch date of the Galaxy S8 at MWC 2017.

The report quotes Samsung’s mobile chief Koh Dong-jin who told reporters that the launch date for the Galaxy S8 will be revealed at the event that will be held towards the end of the month. Basically what this means is that Samsung will reveal the date of the announcement of the handset, which last we check was rumored to take place towards the end of March with a release set possibly in April.

Samsung’s launch date announcement is set of the 27th of February, 2017 which is when MWC 2017 is kicking off, so we guess that shouldn’t really come as a surprise. This is an interesting move as this would be an announcement leading towards another announcement. Previously Samsung would just send out invites and release teaser videos, but we guess with the Galaxy S8 launching later than expected, perhaps this move is meant to placate the eager masses. Either way check back with us later this month for the details.
