samsung logo 4Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy S8 will be a no-show at MWC 2017, in the sense that it will not be announced at the event. However while the phone might not be announced, it seems that there is a chance that Samsung could share a teaser of the phone, at least that’s according to a recent report out of Korea (via PhoneArena).

According to the report, it seems that attendees at Samsung’s MWC 2017 event will be shown a 1 minute Galaxy S8 teaser video for the official announcement of the phone which is rumored to take place a week later. As far as teasers are concerned, 1 minute is pretty long and we have to wonder how much will we actually be able to see.

It does seem a bit odd since this is quite unprecedented as Samsung has never done this before. However since the company has not confirmed anything we should take these reports with a grain of salt. That being said, Samsung did recently post an invite to its MWC 2017 event in which a device was teased.

We’re pretty sure that given the sharp edges of the device it probably isn’t the Galaxy S8, but in any case do check back with us on the 26th of February, 2017 for all the official details.
