Samsung Refutes Claims That They’ll Be Selling Refurbished Note 7s

According to a recent report, it has been suggested that Samsung might be looking to sell refurbished Galaxy Note 7 handsets later this year in “select markets”. The markets that they will allegedly sell the Note 7 handsets in are India and Vietnam, with the goal being to recoup some of the losses incurred with the recall.

However it turns out that maybe those reports weren’t true after all. According to the folks at Gadget 360, they have received a statement from Samsung India in which a spokesperson told them, “The report on Samsung planning to sell refurbished Galaxy Note 7 smartphone[s] in India is incorrect.”

Note that this statement was made by Samsung India and it seems to be talking specifically about the Indian market. This means that maybe Samsung Vietnam could be selling the refurbished Note 7s. Alternatively since this is Samsung India, we guess they might not necessarily be aware of what Samsung Vietnam might be doing, so they chose not to speak for them.

In any case what do you guys make of this? If it were true, is a refurbished and potentially safer Note 7 be something you’re interested in? Or do you think that your experience has been tainted?
