While having good core gameplay is obviously important to the success of a game, developers also need to think long-term and how to keep players interested. This has resulted in updates, expansions, and DLCs in which we see new game modes, skins, quests, weapons, items, and so on being added to the game to extend its playability.

Now if you think that maybe Respawn’s Titanfall 2 is getting a bit long in the tooth and could use a bit of a refresher, you’ll be pleased to learn that a new “Live Fire” mode has been announced for the game and is expected to be available for Titanfall 2 gamers come the 23rd of February, 2017.

According to the post on the PlayStation Blog, “Live Fire is a new mode for Titanfall 2 with lightning fast, six-on-six Pilot action. It brings competitive, close quarters combat to the forefront. A round-based mode with no respawns, you have one minute to eliminate the opposing team in order to win the round. You can also win the round if your team is holding the neutral flag when the round timer ends. It’s fast, frantic, and sure to help hone those teamwork and mobility skills.”

In addition to Live Fire mode, the update is also expected to introduce a bunch of new bug fixes and various improvements to the game, a new map, an overhaul of the matchmaking menu, featured playlists, and more, all of which are definitely worth looking forward to.
