Nougat For T-Mobile’s HTC One M9 Is Under Testing

Last year HTC confirmed that several of their handsets would be updated to Android 7.0 Nougat, and the HTC One M9 was one of them. In fact back in December last year, HTC had begun to roll out the update for the unlocked version of the phone, which means that those locked to a carrier had to wait.

The good news is that the wait could soon be over because according to reports, it seems that T-Mobile is currently testing out the update for the HTC One M9. This has been confirmed on T-Mobile’s website where it looks like the update is undergoing testing and it should be released sometime in the future.

Unfortunately there are no dates provided as to when the update will be ready, but hopefully it shouldn’t take too long, but we’ll keep an eye out for its availability. This is one of the downsides to getting a phone from a carrier in the US as you will have to wait for carrier approval as well, but we guess better late than never.

In the meantime there are newer handsets out there if you plan on upgrading, like the HTC 10 or the recently launched HTC U Ultra which is currently available for purchase in the US.
