Sony and Insomniac Games have been working on a new Spider-Man game that’s going to be exclusive to the PlayStation 4. Earlier today, Marvel provided a launch window for this game which was originally announced at E3 2016. No official title has been given to this game as yet, so it’s just being referred to as the “new Spider-Man game” right now until the publisher confirms what this title is actually going to be called.

Ryan Penagos, vice president and executive editor of Marvel Digital Media, revealed during a recent live stream that the new Spider-Man game will be released exclusively for the PlayStation 4 later this year.

He even mentions that there’s “more on the horizon for 2017,” with titles like Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite due for release on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC this year as well.

It wasn’t really disclosed at E3 last year when this new game is going to be released and at least Penagos has provided a time frame which means that fans can now reasonably expect this game to be out before the end of this year. If that is the case, we should expect to hear more about the new Spider-Man title at E3 2017 come June.

Interestingly, earlier today Insomniac Games said that there’s no estimated timeframe for the release of this game even though the Marvel executive did provide one. Who’s right and who’s not? I guess we’ll have to wait and see to find out for sure.
