Google confirmed a couple of months back that it was working on bringing full support for Android apps to Chromebooks. Not every Chromebook will get this feature, though. There are more than 80 models that are eventually going to be able to run Android apps. Google has now rolled out Android app support to new Chromebooks from Lenovo, HP, and Acer.

There are 14 Chromebook models that have currently received some form of support for Android apps as some have received this feature in the beta channel. A couple of new models have been released recently that have come with the Google Play Store installed right out of the box, Samsung’s Chromebook Pro is one of those models.

The HP Chromebook x360 11 G1 EE is one of the models that has now received support for Android apps. However, support for Android apps on this Chromebook is currently in the Chrome OS Beta channel at this point in time so users will have to switch between the two if they want to use it.

Lenovo’s ThinkPad 11e and 11e Yoga Chromebooks now support Android apps as well albeit also in the Beta channel. So they will have to switch between the two if they would like to use Android apps on their Chromebook.

Last but not the least, we have the Acer Chromebook Spin 11 which has full support for Android apps. It’s going to come with the Play Store installed right out of the box.
