GoPro 360 VR Camera Enters Testing With Broadcasters

GoPro is a camera company best known for its action cameras. The company has been working on its first 360-degree virtual reality camera called the Fusion and it has now said that the camera has entered testing with select broadcasters. The few broadcasters it has chosen to test the 360 VR camera with include Fox Sports and USA Today.

The GoPro Fusion 360-degree virtual reality camera will be used in the future to capture news footage, sporting events, ceremonies, and more in virtual reality. It will be able to do that in 5K resolution.

The company has teamed up with the likes of the Golden State Warriors, USA Today, and Fox Sports to show off the capabilities of the GoPro Fusion. Additional broadcasters that have made it to the list include Digital Domain, Getty Images, Rapid VR, AccuWeather, and others.

GoPro says that it selected these broadcasters as they have significant experience already with 360-degree content, not to mention the fact that some of these broadcasters like the Golden State Warriors have a great online following.

The company is yet to confirm when its first 360-degree virtual reality camera is going to be released. It’s going to be expensive, that’s for sure, but GoPro hasn’t said yet how much it’s going to charge for the camera.
