After a little over a year, Niantic finally added legendary Pokemon to Pokemon GO. Unfortunately the company’s plan to host a real-life event to celebrate the launch did not exactly go well, resulting in Niantic refunding the price of the tickets to gamers who attended, as well as giving them $100 in Poke Coins.

However it seems that despite that setback, the developer is still plodding on and in a post on its blog, they have confirmed that additional legendary Pokemon will be added to the game in the future. According to Niantic, “Don’t worry, Team Instinct and Team Valor, the Legendary Pokémon Zapdos and Moltres will also make their way into the real world soon, so stay tuned for more information.”

We’re not sure if Niantic has plans to create another real-world event to introduce the new legendary Pokemon, but if they do hopefully they will have learnt from their previous mistakes. There is no word on when Zapdos and Moltres will be added to the game, but hopefully gamers won’t have to wait too long.

In the meantime there are other features that have yet to be introduced to the game despite being promised and highly-requested, which is player-versus-player battles (1-on-1) as well as the ability to trade Pokemon with other players, which was one of the appeals and draw of the original Pokemon games.
