Google Search and Maps can already provide you with a lot of information that can help you decide whether or not you should go where you want to. For example, you can access traffic information in Google Maps to find out how long it’s going to take you to get there. Google Search can show you the times what it’s really busy at that place so you know which hours to avoid. The company is taking it one step further so now Google Search and Maps will also display wait times for restaurants.

Many of us are willing to wait for a long time just to get a table at our favorite restaurant. Yes, it’s always better to reserve a table in advance, but for the spontaneous souls among us, this feature will be very useful.

Google Search and Maps will now display wait times for nearly one million sit-down restaurants across the globe. Users can access this information by searching for that particular restaurant and expanding the business listing to view the Popular Times section. It’s where they will see the estimated wait time for a table at that particular moment.

This feature will also let users plan ahead by tapping on any hour bar and seeing the estimated wait for that period. Google will also display a summary of the total waiting times for the day.

It’s a pretty useful feature, and it’s certainly going to help users save a lot of time.
