Hitman developer IO Interactive is getting back into the swing of things following a tumultuous few months that saw its separation from Square Enix over the summer. The franchise’s control now rests with IO Interactive as it will now be publishing Hitman as well. IO Interactive is focusing on adding more content to the game to keep things fresh for players. That’s why it has now announced the return of Hitman elusive targets.

Hitman gained a lot of popularity among the community for elusive targets. They presented a unique challenge to players. Elusive targets would enter the game and only be available in the game for a limited time. Players couldn’t rely on technical aids and got only one chance to take out the target. If they failed, they never got to try their hand at it another time.

IO Interactive added a new elusive target to Hitman over the weekend. Called The Forger, it’s a replay of the very first elusive target.

Staying true to the core of this challenge, IO Interactive has said that players who have already taken down The Forger or have missed their chance to take the target out previously will not get another shot. Only those who are new to the game or never played the mission before will be able to try their skills.

The launch follows the recent release of Hitman: Game of the Year Edition on November 7th. The new edition has been released on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox.
