For the most part Pokemon GO doesn’t really have much story to it, unless you count the fact that it is based on Pokemon which has its own world/story. However Niantic could be looking to change that because based on a datamine by the folks at The Silph Road (via VG247), they have found some references to story quests in Pokemon GO.

However this new feature should not be confused with the daily spin or catch bonuses, which we guess could be considered “quests”, but rather these are quests in the RPG sense of the word, where gamers have to go around and complete story-based, multi-step quests in the game, which should introduce a new dynamic to it.

Unfortunately the details about the quests and its tasks aren’t clear yet, but the datamine has revealed things like catching Pokemon, hatching an egg, walk buddy, feeding Pokemon, winning gym battles, completing a raid battle, and so on. For those who feel that the game has gotten a bit repetitive, hopefully these quests will make things a bit more interesting.

No word on when the feature is expected to roll out to gamers, but we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for more information when it becomes available.
