Tattoo ink, depending on the artist, can be made from a variety of materials. For some tattoo artists, they buy ready-made ink from companies, while others who are more traditional might actually grind the materials themselves to make their own ink like how it was done back in the day.

However it seems that a Swiss company by the name of SKIN46 has announced that they are now making tattoo ink using human biomaterial. Now this isn’t as morbid or as gross as you might think, but rather the company is promoting this as a way of “putting” a loved one inside your body via a tattoo, and like we said it isn’t as gross as you think as it just involves a bit of hair.

For those who want to get tattooed using their loved one’s biomaterial, they just need to send a bit of hair sample to SKIN46 who will then break it down, clean it, and produce a bottle of ink that’s customized with your loved one’s genetics. From there you can give it to your tattoo artist who will then tattoo it on you.

We’re sure that there are some who might question whether or not it is safe to use, but the company claims that their products are in line with various regulations and guidelines around the world. There is also a question of whether or not tattoo artists are willing to use that ink with their equipment, but if you are curious you can head on over to its website for the details.
