However it looks like thanks to job listings spotted on LinkedIn by Macotakara (via AppleInsider), that could change as it would suggest that Apple could be looking to revamp iBooks. This is actually not the first time we’re hearing about this because according to AppleInsider, they have “confirmed” earlier this year that a revamped iBooks could be in the works and that Apple could simply refer to it as “Books”.
This would be in line with what Apple has been doing in recent times where they have slowly started to drop the “i” in certain products and services. AppleInsider points at evidence in earlier builds of the iOS 11.3 update where in previous betas, “Books” was referenced several times, but this has since been reverted in more recent releases.
It is unclear what kind of revamp we are looking at, but if and when it were to launch, chances are Apple might be announcing it at WWDC later this year where Apple has confirmed that it will be taking place from the 4th to the 8th of March.
