Facebook is currently testing out Premieres, which according to the company will allow streamers to upload a pre-recorded video as a Facebook Live moment. Does this sound familiar? If it does, it is because Amazon’s video streaming platform Twitch had previously announced its own Premiere feature.
This basically does the same thing where streamers will be able to upload a pre-recorded version ahead of the live stream to help build some hype and excitement. For example creators can create a trailer of what viewers will be able to expect when the live stream begins, or they could use it to advertise products, make an announcement, and so on.
It’s not a particularly original feature but if you’re someone who uses Facebook Live fairly often then perhaps this will be a feature to look forward to. No word on when it will be available to all users but for now it is being tested with a variety of creators and publishers and shows.
