HMD Global Could Be Preparing The Relaunch Of The Nokia X

For a while when Nokia got into the smartphone game, they launched devices with Microsoft that ran on Windows Phone. Then there were rumors that Nokia was trying their hand at smartphones with Android which resulted in the Nokia X series, although that endeavor ended pretty quickly.

However it looks like HMD Global, who is now pretty much manufacturing all Nokia phones, is trying to revive the Nokia X lineup, at least according to ads spotted in China (via PhoneArena) in which the company seems to be teasing a Nokia X related announcement for the 27th of April. Not much is known about the phone or its significance. After all, all of HMD’s Nokia phones have since been Android devices so presumably this launch will only be in name.

Also presumably it will not be designed as a competitor to Apple’s iPhone X since the rumors make it sound like it will be a mid-ranged handset instead of a flagship phone. Either way we suppose we’ll have to wait until the 27th of April to find out the details, but considering that the announcement is taking place in China, there’s also a good chance we might not see the new Nokia Xs launched stateside.
