Hitman developer IO Interactive has been an independent studio ever since it was dropped by Square Enix last year. It now has a new publishing partner: Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. IO Interactive and Warner Bros. announced a deal today to release Hitman: Definitive Edition for PS4 and Xbox One next month. This release is the first outcome of this worldwide publishing and distribution deal between the two companies.

Hitman: Definitive Edition includes the base game, all of the content released in the Game of the Year Edition, new outfits, the summer bonus episode, the Blood Money Requiem Pack as well as all featured Contracts, Escalation Contracts, and Challenge Packs from the first season.

“We’re very excited to be working with IO Interactive, a talented studio with a long-standing legacy creating the iconic Hitman games,” said David Haddad, the President of Warner Bros. Interactive.

Hitman: Definitive Edition is going to be released for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on May 15th. The price hasn’t been announced at this point in time.

IO Interactive has previously confirmed that it’s already working on the next title in the Hitman franchise and expects to reveal more information about it in the coming months. We can expect to hear something at E3 2018.
