Following his split from Konami, Hideo Kojima launched his own studio, Kojima Productions, where the company’s first game would be a game titled “Death Stranding”. Kojima is a masterful game designer and storyteller and so far all the trailers that have been released have only generated more intrigue as to what the game would be about.

Unfortunately if you were hoping that Kojima would finally give us the low-down on what to expect, prepare to be disappointed and be left with more questions. During Sony’s E3 2018 presentation, a new trailer of Death Stranding was released which is as mysterious as the previous trailers.

According to the description, “Besieged by death’s tide at every turn, Sam Bridges must brave a world utterly transformed by the Death Stranding. Carrying the stranded remnants of the future in his hands, Sam embarks on a journey to reunite the shattered world one step at a time. What is the mystery of the Death Stranding? What will Sam discover on the road ahead?”

The game looks fantastic visually, thanks to the use of the Decima engine. However while the trailer does seem to contain footage of the game itself, it doesn’t really tell us much as it shows the protagonist (voiced by actor Norman Reedus) walking about sprawling landscapes. There is still no set release date for the game, but last we heard the company was aiming for a release before 2019, but either way we’ll keep our eyes and ears peeled for more info.
