SNK has been teasing the Neo Geo Mini over the past month or so and eventually revealed more information about the system. It confirmed that the system would be released on July 24th in Japan for 11,500 yen which is about the same price as the SNES Classic Mini. It has been available for pre-order and has already sold out in Japan.

The Neo Geo Mini is a miniature version of the classic console game and it comes with 40 games pre-installed. The titles that are pre-installed on the mini console include Metal Slug, The King of Fighters, and Garou: Mark of the Wolves.

SNK has been taking pre-orders for the Neo Geo Mini through its official webshop for Japan. There are multiple bundles available to customers which include additional controllers and even a backpack.

Customers in Japan can also place pre-orders for the mini console on Amazon Japan, or at least they could, because it’s sold out there as well. It’s unclear how soon additional stock will be available to customers in the country. Pre-ordered units will be shipped to customers starting August 3rd.

The machine has a 3.5 inch LCD display so customers can play games on it without having to connect it to a TV. SNK has said that it will eventually be launched in other markets as well but it’s unclear precisely when that’s going to happen.
