Epic Games, the developer of the most popular title on the planet, has confirmed that the Fortnite competitive mode is going to arrive this fall. With Epic increasingly spending huge amounts of money on Fortnite competitions, it obviously serves its own interests to improve the title and make it better suited to gaming competitions because things are far from ideal on that front for Fortnite right now.

The developer has confirmed that it’s working on a “robust competition system” for Fortnite. The system will have players competing against each other within the same match and they will be able to get recognition for their accomplishments.

“We are aware of a strong desire from competitive players for more opportunities to compete directly against one another within the same match,” Epic Games acknowledged in the latest iteration of its State of Development update.

It added that work has begun on the new system which will let all players compete with one another in the same match and be recognized for their achievements. The first version of this new competitive mode of sorts will arrive later this fall, according to Epic Games.

In addition to the player-focused improvements, Epic will also be improving audience-friendly features such as live spectator cameras. That’s important as well because a lot of people just want to see how other players are performing in the competitions.
